What's New for 2018?

For 2018, the base S trim now comes with the option of a driver-assistance options bundle with forward-collision warning with autonomous braking and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. R-Line trims and higher get standard adaptive cruise control, and there's even a new GT trim to be excited about! Last but not least, the outgoing 1.8-liter engine is being replaced by a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that provides better fuel economy and power.

The 2018 Volkswagen Passat comes in a variety of trim levels - the base S, R-Line, SE, SE with Technology, SEL Premium, V6 SEL Premium, and V6 GT - so you'll have no trouble finding the one that offers everything you need and nothing you don't. Of course, no matter your choice, you'll be picking a gorgeously understated sedan featuring LED headlights, a Hands-Free Easy Open trunk around back, incredible rear legroom, wood-grain and aluminum accents through the interior, and much more. You'll have a hard time taking your eyes off it.

The 2018 Passat has no lack of features and functions to enjoy, sure to make even the most mundane errands more exciting. The S trim comes standard with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system and Bluetooth connectivity; the R-Line trim and above comes with a variety of standard safety features like adaptive cruise control, forward-collision mitigation, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert; and you can even upgrade to a Fender-branded premium audio system on certain trims. You'll never be bored in the Passat.

The base engine in the 2018 Passat is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable of hitting 174 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining an EPA-estimated 36 miles per gallon on the highway and 25 miles per gallon in the city. Of course, you can upgrade to the 3.6-liter V6 engine on some trim levels and feel the pulse-pounding performance of 280 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque to pull you to the front of the pack. Add on paddle shifters on certain trims and you'll be in full control down every road you travel.
